A Staff Application is made by players that would like to become staff members. This page contains an overview as well as guidlines, requirements, and tips on becoming staff on Zentic.

When applying for staff you should consider these tips
This is the first part of the application process; in this portion, applicants are to fill out the form below. Failure to meet the requirements or answer the questions seriously/properly will result in immediate denial.
Before you apply, you should make sure that you want to be a staff member for the right reasons. If you want to become staff just for the rank, then you should think deeper: your rank is more than just a status or trophy; you are a connection between the player base and administration. You should be willing to sacrifice your time to the community and do your best at being a staff member. The duty of a staff member is to be a role model and an active ruler follower/enforcer. You should be ready to be a responsible staff member. If you're not ready or able to do that, then you should reconsider being a staff member. In staff, we look for activity, maturity, empathy, patience, communication, and respect. You can show this by welcoming new players, helping, being encouraging, and being mindful towards players. You should not be disrespectful, toxic, argue, break rules, plagiarize, spam, or lie.
Being honest in your application will ensure you have the greatest chance of being accepted. We background check all applicants to make sure they are telling the truth. It's better to show that you can improve from your mistakes rather than trying to show that you don't make any.
You should keep your application detailed, yet precise. Make sure that what you've done in the past and what skills you've gained from that can be connected to being a better staff member. Details are useful but should be related to the application. Your application should have little to no English mistakes and be written professionally. Your application shouldn't include emojis, colors, fonts, links to random websites, etc. Links should only be used to provide evidence for your claims. If you don't know the English language enough or are unable to write a professional application, then you cannot be a staff member.
Make sure to show evidence for your claims. If you claim to be staff on another server, then provide evidence of your rank on the server, your Discord/website role, or a reference to other staff members (who are in the Zentic discord) using screenshots, videos, or another medium. You will also need to include the address to the server and the website and/or the Discord if applicable (even if the server has closed). Also, make sure to show effort into your application; like for the text areas don't just write one sentence, you should fill the entire box with your response.
Don't let denial bring you down; if you genuinely want to become staff for the right reasons, and you meet the requirements, then we encourage you to apply again using the feedback that you were given. You should learn from your mistakes.
If you are denied then you either didn’t meet the requirements, didn’t answer seriously/properly, or you didn’t qualify for the position. We typically state the reason why your application was denied, unless you didn’t meet the requirements or didn’t answer the question(s) seriously/properly in which case we will just say, “Denied.” If you are denied, you may reapply next season. Please don’t make a thread about why you think you should’ve been accepted as it will only hurt your chances of becoming staff. Depending on what feedback we gave you, we advise you to be optimistic and reevaluate your application and behavior.
If you were accepted, then you will be either contacted on Discord or on the website to schedule your verbal interview. If you do not reply within one week, your application will be denied. Make sure that when you schedule your interview it is right before a period when you can spend a lot of time on the server. This is because your trial portion will begin right after the interview assuming you are accepted. If you will go on vacation, have exams, etc. then we can wait a couple weeks for your interview.
After you have passed the written portion of the application, you are required to undergo a verbal interview. During the interview, you will be asked questions and scenarios which you are expected to clearly and calmly reply to in order to simulate what it is like being a staff member on the server. From this, the interviewer will determine your capability of handling the role. After all the questions are asked and responded to, the interviewers will decide whether you will pass or not.
If we pick up that you have become stressed during the interview and you are having a tough time responding, then it will lead us to believe that you are not a very good staff member. This is because as a staff member, you should be able to handle stressful scenarios and events.
You must respond to us clearly so we can understand what you are saying. If we cannot understand what you are saying, then we cannot tell if you are answering correctly or incorrectly. If we cannot determine if your answers are correct or incorrect, it will result in failing your interview.
Do what is asked of you. You must answer the questions/scenarios and respect the interviewer. If you do not respond and/or do not respect the interviewer you will be denied.
If you fail the verbal interview, then you will be able to reapply next season. Your interviewer(s) will give you feedback so that you may reapply.
If you pass the verbal interview, then you will be given Helper rank on all platforms and taught the basics of how moderation works on our network.
After you have passed the verbal interview, you will receive the Helper rank. You will be a Helper for around two weeks and then we will determine your position. The length of the trial portion can vary depending on your performance and our schedules. During this period, you are to answer questions, help players, handle reports, moderate the chat, help with support tickets, and get to know the community better. You will also record evidence of rule breakers and report it to higher staff members if you are not able to punish the player for the appropriate offense. During this period, you're expected to be highly active as this is the time when you are proving your dedication to the role. If you reach a certain threshold of false punishments, abuse, or not do your job you will be demoted. If you do well, then you will be promoted. You are expected you follow both the network and staff rules; staff members are held to the same standards as normal players.
If you are demoted, then your rank will be removed and you will be able to reapply next season. But, you are highly encouraged to apply again as you’ve made it so far before and you will be given feedback on what you did wrong.
If you are promoted, then you will receive the Moderator rank and be given new tasks to do. If you exceed as a Moderator, then you may be promoted to a higher rank.
How do I apply to get Admin or Moderator?
You are not able to apply for these roles: they are granted from promotions.
How do I get Media rank?
You can use the media application form to apply for media.
Can I use ChatGPT or any similar AI for my application?
No, all applications are run through an AI content detector.
Can I apply if I’m younger than 14 years of age?
No, there are absolutely no exceptions for any requirements.
Can I ask a staff member to review or give me feedback on my application?
No, staff applications are for you to show who you are. If you read this entire document you should have a good idea of what to write. Your application may be denied if you do this.
How do I apply for staff?
Read this entire document and then fill out the questions below. You will receive a notification on the website telling you your results.
How long will it take to get a response?
Depending on how busy the staff members are, and the amount of other applications it can take from one day to two weeks.
Does it matter how many times I’ve been denied?
No, but if you keep on getting denied please review this document and the feedback that you are given.
Can I use the same application again?
Depending on how far you got in the application process you can use the same application. However, we recommend that you update your application at least a bit using the feedback given to you and this document.
How much personal detail should I include in my application?
As much as you feel comfortable sharing. These applications can be seen by most of the staff team. Obviously don’t include any details that you shouldn’t share like your address or full name.
Do I need to also be active on the forums and Discord?
Yes, at least a little. Being a staff member requires that you have experience using all of our platforms. Since we acknowledge that many players have their own platform that they are active on you will not be instantly denied.
What did I do wrong if my application deny reason was just 'Denied'?
This means that you either didn't meet the requirements, didn’t answer the questions seriously/properly, didn't put any effort into your application, or lacked necessary details.
Why do I need to be 14 to apply?
You need to be at least 14 to apply because of maturity and valuable life experiences that helps to understand the responsibilities of being staff.
Will I get paid as a staff member?
No, all staff ranks are volunteer positions.
What if I have questions about the application that are not answered here?
You can contact a staff member via website messaging, Discord, in-game message, etc. to ask them your question.
